Rocky Mount, North Carolina, 2019.
This painted steel piece stands 8' tall. The sculpture was selected for
'Salmagundi XXIII", a year-long exhibition in Rocky Mount, NC, through
the Maria V. Howard Center for the Arts and Sciences.
Part of my 'Skyworks' series of sculptures, which are created with a
'NASA aesthetic' and meant to convey and express Mankind's quest for
understanding of our place in this vast, mysterious Universe in which we
find ourselves. Art plays a vital role in that search. Beauty goes hand
and hand in the search for knowledge.
Much thanks to juror, Jason Smith, and Alicyn Weidrich of the Imperial
Centre for the Arts in Rocky Mount.
